Striker Mathieu Manset has moved to Swiss side FC Sion from Reading on a thee-year contract.

The deal for the 22-year old was confirmed on FC Sion’s Official Website yesterday, but the fee was not disclosed. Manset spent half of last season on loan at Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, playing alongside Nicholas Anelka, but he scored just one goal in nine games. He trained with his new team mates today and takes the number 19 shirt.

Despite joining Reading in January 2011 for a fee around £300,000, the Ivory Coast forward failed to nail down a starting place in Brian McDermott’s side. The former Hereford striker scored five goals for Reading, the most prestigious coming in the opening game against Millwall last campaign, scoring two in the last 15 minutes.
