Reading striker Jason Roberts is desperate to return to full fitness, so much that he has now started using ‘pilates’ to speed up his recovery.
The 34-year old has still not made an appearance for the Royals this season due to the calf problem picked up in pre-season. Roberts has now started using ‘pilates’ in an attempt to speed up his recovery, which is a series of stretches and exercises to improve flexibility and posture. However, the former Blackburn forward cannot put a solid date on his return.
Speaking to Jonny Fordham of the Reading Post, Roberts said: “I`m doing all sorts of stuff. Pilates, core work, everything. I`ve been doing loads. My recovery from the injury has been slower than I would have liked. But when you`re injured it can give you the opportunity to improve on other things too.’
‘I`ve been working on other correctional things in my body to come back in the best possible shape. I need to make sure when I come back that I`m not coming off with the same issue again. I haven`t had a calf problem before, but luckily I haven`t missed many games. I`m a really bad injured player because I just have no patience.”
