Still no home comfort

And so it goes on! The Royals threatened to end that long home run without a league win but any hope that Grzegorz Rasiak`s first goal for the club would bring a much needed three points was extinguished when Danny Graham popped up with a second half leveller, after a mistake from Darren O`Dea.
Once again this was a game typical of how our season in going so far, lots of potential but without the ability to see it through. Just as we did at London Road last weekend, we dominated from the start and Jobi McAnuff, on his debut, set up Brian Howard to shoot just over before many Royals fans had even taken their seats. Rasiak forced Scott Loach into a wonderful save before Gylfi Sigurdsson hit a post and this was before the clock had even got to the 5 minute mark!

It took just a few more minutes for the opening goal to arrive and it was another assist for Icelandic youngster Sigurdsson, who crossed for Rasiak to fire home his first goal in the famous blue and white hoops.

The Royals dominance continued throughout the first half, Rasiak had another couple of chances, heading one over before testing Loach once more, whilst Howard tested the Watford keeper from long range.

Danny Graham had the visitors only chance of the half but didn`t trouble Adam Federici and we went into the break with a deserved lead and asking questions why it wasn`t more. I don`t know what they put in the tea in the Royals dressing room though because for the second game in a row we came out a different side and the visitors, buoyed by a large away following, game out in search of an equaliser.

Federici was called upon just minutes into the half, pulling off s fine reaction save to flick Henry Lansbury`s shot onto the bar and was brave to dive in the middle of a goal mouth scramble to grab the ball. Despite another effort from Rasiak, the Watford equaliser arrived just after the hour when a long ball was lofted into the Royals box. Darren O`Dea let the ball go over his head expecting Federici to claim but Graham nipped in and headed home.

Late on, Hornets sub Nathan Ellington was sent off for a second bookable offence when he took out Shaun Cummings but we couldn`t capitalise of the man advantage and had to settle for point which is a result which will please the visitors far more than Brendan Rodger`s men.
