Reading have been handed the great news that Ibrahima Sonko could make his long await return from injury against Liverpool in the Carling Cup at the end of the month.

Sonko has been out since January, when he picked up a cruciate knee ligament injury against Sheffield United, but the powerfully build defender has come through his first full training session and hopes to be back in action when Liverpool come to the Madejski Stadium in the Carling Cup.

He is confident of making that match, it is now up to Steve Coppell if he feels he will be ready, which most would suspect he would.

He is needed back, as he has been missed. He should tighten up the defence when he is back.
