Ibrahima Sonko has given Steve Coppell, and those connected or associated with Reading a boost by being passed fit for the match with Manchester City, at least he should be.

Sonko, who has only recently returned from his long term knee injury had been a slight doubt with a groin problem but Reading physio Jon Fearn has delivered good news on the defender, and it was thought that Michael Duberry could be fit to return also, which has since been reduced, “Sonky had a minor groin strain from the Arsenal game, but I’m sure he will train on Thursday and be fine for Man City,” Fearn told readingfc.co.uk.

“Doobs is in light training at the moment, and we’ll keep reviewing him as the week goes by. He might have a chance for the weekend.

Having Sonko fit is a big boost ahead of the visit to Manchester City, but if Duberry could also be fit that would be an added bonus, although this now looks unlikely.

Hopefully not only Sonko but also Duberry can be fit, the latter looks unlikely now though, as we will need all the defenders that we can against Man City, as they are going great at home, we are doing poorly away from home!
