Ibrahima Sonko has spoken out about the injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season and the big Senegalese defender has vowed to be back next season as super and heroic as ever.

After damaging cruciate ligaments in his knee against Sheffield United, the Reading defender had been ruled out for the rest of the season and will miss the final chapters of Reading`s first Premiership campaign.

“I feel all right, but I`m naturally disappointed because this has happened at the wrong time of the year, but it happens to a lot of players.” said Superman Sonko.

“I remember the incident well. I just tried to kick the ball away and on the turn my studs got stuck in the turf, I took a wrong turn you might say. I tried to play on. I think the adrenaline kicked in.

“I thought I can walk, I can start running again, and I thought I could probably escape an injury.

“Just to reassure myself I decided to go back onto the pitch, which probably wasn`t the best thing to do.

‘When my knee went again I knew it was time to stop. The damage had been done in the first place and I realised at that moment that I was injured.”

“It`s unlucky, but I`m not going to complain. It`s part of football now, I am already doing some early rehab weights and I`ll keep working on my upper body strength too.

“It`s all about getting ready for next season now.”

Just like the terminator Sonko reminded us “I will be back.”

And I cannot wait, when he is fit and ready you`ll see the headline here first folks: SUPERMAN RETURNS!!!!

I crack myself up?
