Simon Cox is to return to Griffin Park to finish his loan spell after recovering from a fractured fibula.

The Reading midfielder started his loan period at the beginning of this competitive season and featured in five matches for Brentford.

However the 19-year-old went back to the Madejski Stadium after breaking his leg in the League match against Millwall.

Now fully fit, the youngster is set to return to Brentford to see out the rest of his loan agreement. He told Reading`s official website:

‘I really enjoyed the loan at Brentford and although the results weren’t great I was playing quite well.

‘The leg is fully healed and I’ve played a couple of games for the reserves now,’

‘I’m just looking forward to getting back there and playing some competitive football to try and help lift them out of the bottom four.’

Cox was signed under now departed boss, Leroy Rosenior, but caretaker manager Soctt Fitzgerald expressed that Cox could feature in his plans.

Simon typifies the attitude I’m looking for and expecting from the players and that is one of passion.’

Brentford currently sit 21st in League One but are by no means down and out yet, depending on results a win against Cheltenham on Friday night could see them boosted up to 19th place.
