Sidwell to Join Newcastle?

Friends of Reading midfielder, Steve Sidwell have reported that the enigmatic Royals star has confirmed to them he will leave Reading for Newcastle in the summer.

According to friend`s accounts in the Sun newspaper, the 24-year-old who is out of contract at the end of the season will join Newcastle United on a Bosman signing ahead of a host of other clubs that include, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Everton.

But it is hard to assess how much truth there is in these rumours, after all it was only last week that Sidwell claimed he may be persuaded to stay with the Royals by the signing on of manager Steve Coppell on a new-two-year deal.

And just weeks before that he claimed that the acquisition of a European qualifier place could help him put pen to paper on a new deal?

To be honest, I won`t give up hope that he might sign but I really think Sidwell`s days as a Royal are coming to an end?
