Steve Sidwell`s contract this and Steve Sidwell`s contract that?
I`m really tempted to say this will be the last time I write a story on Sidders` contract until he signs or goes, but you know what its like on slow news days π
So now that crafty contract rebel is asking to see evidence of Reading`s future ambition before signing up his future at with the Royals?
The almost out of contract midfield ace has refused all previous offers of a conteact extension with Reading and refuses to speculate on his his future at the moment.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Sidwell said ββI am keeping my options open, it is a big decision for me and this is an important stage of my career, so I am in no rush.β
Even though Reading are sixth in the league, Sidwell wants to know what Reading`s plans are for the future:
βI want to chat with the club again and see where their ambitions are, where they want to take Reading.β
I have mixed opinions on this whole issue now, I know a lot of fans who say βlet the f**ker go` and another lot who want the club to βtear up trees` β as skipper Graeme Murty put it β to keep the boy here.
I really wish there could just be some conclusion to the whole fiasco, because frankly that is what it`s turning into.
Is Sidwell really worth it when he`s giving the club a run around like this? Surely if we are sixth in the league with Premiership football pretty much a certainty he knows the clubs intentions?
One view may be that Sidwell is worried about relegation next season, but if this is the case why not get a relegation release clause?
Please, let us know what you think on the whole situation:
