Nicky Shorey missed the Bolton match at the weekend because of a knee problem, but what is his future with Reading?

Shorey picked up the injury on international duty for England, as he played the friendly with Germany last Wednesday, however it is hoped that he should be fit for next week’s game with West Ham.

But if the media are to be believed it is claimed that his future might be away from Reading anyway, with his latest England performance only adding to the talk that he may decide to move away from the Madejski because he might think he is now too good for Reading.

He still has a couple of years on his contract, so Reading should not have that much to worry about just yet, even if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

One Reply to “Shorey’s Reading future in doubt?”

  • If Shorey can play for England while he is at Reading why should he want to leave? Unless he wants to leave to win things, which you would understand, he would have no need. But will Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man United want him though? It is not that likely is it.
