With great thanks to Vital Huddersfield editor Terrier24, we ask a few questions on our new loan signing Benik Afobe and how he got on last year at League One side Huddersfield Town.

————————————————————–

1) How would you summarise and compare his first and second spell with Huddersfield?

Benik is a player with bags of energy and having initially joined on loan for a month (Nov 2010-Dec2010) he made a huge impact that prompted us to beg Arsene Wenger to let him remain for the rest of the season. In total he made 32 appearances and scored 8 goals (some crackers) and had about 10 assists & when you consider that was with him deployed as a lone striker for pretty much his entire spell here it is quite impressive!

2) What are his strengths?

Strength on the ball, for a young player in a very physical league one he managed to hold his own, also has good pace and is just as likely to grab you an assist with his tenacious work as he would a goal or two. His hold up play improved massively during his spell here and he linked up play nicely (He kept Jordan Rhodes on the bench!) Tireless runner and as i said earlier bags of energy. A defenders nightmare

3) What are his weaknesses?

He should be more clinical – lots of games he would get around 3/4 chances and not put any away – he is getting in the right places at the right times he just needs the killer instinct – but I believe that will come with time.

4) Reading through a few bits about his time with you, seemed like he had a bit of an ‘attitude` problem very occasionally, was this the case?

I don’t think that he had or indeed has a big time Charlie attitude, he blended in well with the rest of the squad and has many good friends from his time here. Would be welcomed back by the vast majority at any time.

5) Did you always expect him to make the step up to a Championship club on loan this season?

Given his injury record this campaign I had expected that he wouldn’t be going out on loan anywhere this season – although the Championship was inevitable – I just hope he is match fit for you guys.

6) Many rate him as one of the hottest prospects in the country, would you agree?

He is right up there, maturity comes with age, I would expect him to get another full season out on loan in the Championship next season before we see him break into Arsenal`s side.
