Reading have been linked with the signing of Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham, according to The Sun.
The 27-year old has been a key player for the Bluebirds in recent years and is widely seen as one of, or if not, the best footballer outside of the Premier League. The tabloid newspaper has said that Malky Mackay could be tempted with a £3 million offer from the promoted Royals.
Whittingham is a former England U21 international and has played over 200 games for the Bluebirds. The move is basic speculation at this moment in time and would obviously depend on Cardiff’s progress in the play-offs, which has proven unsuccessful in the past two seasons under the management of former boss Dave Jones.
