Reading winger Michail Antonio has called on the Reading fans to create a cracking atmosphere at the Madejski Stadium this Saturday for the visit of West Ham, where the match will be a sell-out.

The 21-year old has returned from his loan spell at Colchester United to try and gain his place in the first team. He made a substitute appearance against Blackpool last week.

Antonio told the official RFC site: ‘West Ham are one of the best clubs in the Championship and to be involved in that game would be a very big privilege, I want to train hard and hopefully I’ll be in the squad.’

‘They have got a good fan base, their fans will try and bring it and try and back their boys – so we’re going to need the fans to back our boys, be louder than them and push us so we can start turning these narrow losses into wins.’

The London-born winger could find himself on the bench again despite the inconsistent form of fellow winger Jimmy Kebe. However, with a departure likely from the Malian, Antonio will be desperate to stake his claim in the side.
