Despite recent quotes hinting at a move away, Hal Robson-Kanu has revealed he is in contract discussions with the club.
The Reading winger gave quotes the other day that could have been interpreted as a ‘come and get me’ plea, but HRK has claimed that those quotes were mis-quoted and taken the wrong way. Instead, he revealed he is in talks to extent his current deal, which runs out next season.
Through his verified Twitter account, the 24-year old tweeted earlier today that: ‘Seems I have been mis-quoted by the press. Just to clarify I am currently in talks with Reading to extend the year remaining on my contract.’
It’s good that Robson-Kanu has come out publicly to play down the quotes and if he does sign a new deal, it will be a great piece of business for the club. I’m sure that HRK will be a leading figure for us next season, after a good tail end to the most recent campaign.
