Third place Reading play hosts to fourth place Burnley in a clash of the two in-form sides in the division.

Reading have won all of their games at home this season and are fresh off the back of an excellent 3-0 win at league leaders Wolves.

Burnley are in great form themselves having won four games of their last five league games, with manager Owen Coyle picking up the manager of the month award for September.

Reading will be looking to continue their superb home form that has seen them score 16 goals in just four games.

Vital Quotes:

Kevin Dillon on Burnley:

‘I’ve seen the goals they scored against Watford [on Tuesday] and there’s real character there.

‘The result against Wolves was probably as good a result as we’ve had for a long time, a good year, since Liverpool.

‘We won’t get carried away – we’ve got Steve [Coppell, manager] to keep our feet on the ground.’

Reading Team News:

James Harper is fit, but will probably have to settle for a place on the bench due to the good form of Bryn Gunnarsson and Jem Karacan.

Marek Matejovsky, Graeme Murty and Michael Duberry are still out for the Royals.

Player to watch: Kevin Doyle

He’s scored eight goals in the last three home games, ’nuff said.

Burnley Team News:

Russell Anderson is out for the season after damaging his knee and Ade Akinbiyi and Kevin McDonald are both doubtful.

Chris Eagles, may again be forced to settle for a bench spot.

Player to watch: Joey Gudjonsson

When he plays well, Burnley plays well. He’s also quite sneaky and prone to cheating.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

Without getting too complacent, Reading should be too strong for Burnley. The 3-0 win at Wolves was unexpected but shows the Royals are real contenders this season.

My prediction: Reading 2-0 Burnley
