Chris Cummins’ under 21 side came from two goals down against Bolton to earn a point at Lancashire FA`s County Ground.

The Royals named a very youthful line-up, that was captained by the rather hugely-experienced Brynjar Gunnarsson. Bolton took the lead on 20 minute mark thanks to a wide Greg Wylde free-kick which managed to go all the way through and deceive the impressive Jonathan Henly in the Reading goal.

The Lancashire side then doubled their lead minutes later, as Henley was once again unlucky as a stray cross was deflected into the by a Reading player. However, Reading responded well and got a goal back thanks to Welsh under 21 international Jake Taylor, whose free-kick was expertly well-placed.

The come back was completed half way through the second period, as defender Niall Keown, son to Arsenal legend Martin, leveled the game after poaching a loose ball in the penalty area. Reading nearly snatched it after some fine work from Lawson D’Ath, but Chris Cummins would be content with a point after being two goals down.

Reading: Henly, Arnold, Partridge, Keown, Macdonald, D’Ath, Gunnarsson (c), Tshibola, Losasso, Taylor, Samuel,
Subs: Webb, Lincoln, Tanner, Long, Ikpeazu
