Reading are keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest defender Wes Morgan as a possible transfer target in the upcoming transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The 27-year old centre back’s contact is running out at the end of the season and does not want to renew his contract, which has sparked interest from Championship rivals Cardiff City.

It is believed that Forest have put a £250,000 price tag on the big defender, who has played over 400 games for the Reds. This makes him the longest serving player at the club, but could be destined to leave in the coming months.

The Royals have been linked with Morgan before and with Bongani Khumalo set to return to Tottenham in January, Morgan could be an ideal replacement for the departing loanee. Reading have also been linked with Swindon centre back Aidan Flint.
