Royals to Face Celtic

Long standing Reading captain Graeme Murty has finally sorted out his testimonial.

The Royals were due to face Inter Milan this summer in Murty’s testimonial, but due to relegation, fixture congestion and Jose Mourinho’s inability to forget an incident that happened two years ago, that was recognised as a completely accident to everyone in the world apart from him and Oliver Holt, the match was cancelled.

Murty’s big day looked in jeopardy following the cancellation of the game, but an end of season match against Celtic has now filled the void.

Murty will donate a proportion of the money raised from the testimonial to Swings and Smiles, a recreational facility for special needs children.

The date for the testimonial is yet to be arranged, but several other events including a race night, a bowling night and a golf day have all been arranged.
