Reading have extended the loan’s of two players currently at lower league clubs, while three have made the short-term loan move away from Berkshire.

Reading striker Simon Church has extended his loan spell at Championship outfit Huddersfield until the 31st December. The Welsh international has enjoyed his first-team football with Simon Grayson’s side and also scored his first goal for the terriers in their 2-1 loss to Brighton last Saturday.

The Welsh international is out of contract at the end of the the current season, so the Royals are not likely to let him out on loan again after the 31st December, as he will be allowed to talk to other clubs after then. McDermott has urged Church to sign a new deal at the Madejski Stadium, but has became frustrated at the lack of first team chances.

Another Royals player extending his loan is young midfielder Lawson D’Ath, staying with League Two side Cheltenham Town for another month. The 20-year old will also be joined by fellow youth player Jake Taylor on a month’s loan deal, with the Welsh under 21 international also joining up with Mark Yeates’ side.

It was a busy loan deadline day for the Football League clubs, as Torquay United also snatched up young Reading defender Angus McDonald on a one-month loan. Promising defender Michael Hector also made a loan move to League Two side Aldershot Town on a month’s loan deal, after being recalled from his tenure at Shrewsbury.
