Reading kicked off their pre-season tour in Spain with a dominant display against Gibraltar United by winning 10-0.

Much like the friendly win against Southend last Saturday, the Royals played two different teams in each half to get minutes into as many players as possible. With the score 3-0 at the break, the second half team, which had a much more first team look to it, turned the performance up a notch or two and managed to hit double figures by the end.

The goals in the first half came with midfielder Jordan Holsgrove grabbing a brace and Andrija Novakovich adding his name to the scoresheet. The second half goals included a hat trick from Danny Loader, another brace this time from Yakou Meite, one of which came from the penalty spot, and goals from Tom McIntyre and Josh Barrett completed the rout.

We were expected to pick up a win in this game and did so in emphatic fashion, which will certainly boost morale before a massive game against La Liga side Sevilla on Saturday.
