With the international break now upon us, it’s always a slow news week, so we have a look at some of the news stories over this past week….

Congratulations is in order to our defender and vice-captain Chris Gunter, who won Wales’ Player of the Year Award on Tuesday night, an award I imagine that would usually have Gareth Bale’s name already scribed on. Joking aside, very well deserved for his consistent performances for country, as well as his club.

Our Under 21s loss narrowly on Tuesday night to League One outfit Southend United in the Checkatrade Trophy. The youngsters went down 1-0 at Roots Hall in a tightly contested game, where Pelle Clement was the only noticeable first team name, with Sam Smith and Andy Rinomhota also appearing after a couple of first team showings.

Sky Sports have decided to move our home game with Cardiff City back from Saturday 9th to Monday 11th December, 8pm kick off for TV Coverage. Neil Warnock’s side currently sit top of the table and have proven to be the team to beat this season, so let’s hope we see our old mate Colin looking rather upset!

There is no real update on the injury front for us, but it seems we won’t have to wait too much longer to see Yann Kermorgant back. The Frenchman is back in light training and will hopefully step the intensity up over the international break, but still has a long way to go yet until he is considered for selection by Stam.
