A round up of all the news concerning Reading FC in the last couple of days, also looking ahead to tonight’s game against Arsenal.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has admitted he will make changes to his side that face Arsenal in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup tonight. Adam Federici, Alex Pearce and Garath McCleary are likely to play a part, while whether Danny Guthrie makes the squad remains to be seen, following a reported bust up with the 51 year old.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will also make numerous changes, having already named his 18-man squad. It is very much a mix of youth and experience selected by the Frenchman, who has chosen to rest his key players. The likes of Andrey Arshavin, Maroaune Chamakh and Theo Walcott are likely to earn a starting place and prove their credentials to the Arsenal manager.

The under 21 squad followed in similar footsteps to the first team yesterday, as they fought from behind to draw with West Brom yesterday afternoon. It didn’t start well for Chris Cummins’ side, who were one down within 40 seconds and Albion went 3-1 up at the Hawthorns. Despite this, a superb free kick from Charlie Lossaso and a stunning second from Dominic Samuel put the scoreline level.

The under 18 squad continued their fine run if form, making it four straight wins in a row as they thrashed West Brom 4-0 at Hogwood. A brace from Tarique Fosu-Henry and goals from Jake Cooper and Ikpeazu meant Eamonn Dolan’s side enjoyed a good afternoons work. They will now prepare to face their toughest at West Ham next week.
