Reading manager Brian McDermott has said he will expect winger Jimmy Kebe to sign a new contract at the club, keeping him at the Madejski stadium for the long-term.
The Malian winger has been linked with a variety of clubs after failing to agree contract terms with the Reading board, which has triggered an interest from Championship rivals Leicester City.
McDermott told BBC Berkshire: ‘I’ve spoken to Jimmy, he has told me he loves Reading and wants to stay. I know Jimmy well and I’m sure he would come to see me if that has changed.’
The 27-year old’s contract runs out next summer, since signing in 2008 from French side Lens. He has gone onto make 142 appearances for the Royals, scoring over 20 goals.
