Reading have confirmed that no business was done at all on deadline day yesterday, despite rumours fluctuating about Jimmy Kebe and a proposed move to Leicester.

However a move did not happen, despite Leicester publicly admitting their interest in the Malian winger but opted to sign Jermaine Beckford instead.

The Royals were linked with Jacob Mellis, the Chelsea youngster, but would most likely have depended on Brian Howard leaving the club after the midfielder stated he wants to leave.

Another player who also wants to leave the Berkshire club is Marcus Williams, who is now further down the pecking order at the Madejski Stadium with the acquisition of Joseph Mills this month.

Striker Simon Church was also linked with a move to League One side Notts County on a loan deal but again nothing materialised and Church on his Twitter admitted he is focused on getting into the team and scoring goals.
