Fans making the trip to the Riverside Stadium tomorrow are aware of how long the journey to the North East will be, but thanks to money recieved from the sale of Gylfi Sigurdsson the Royals squad will be flying up.

Brian McDermott admitted that it would have been something that would have been possible without the money raised for the sale of The Sig. He told the Reading Post,

‘We’re flying to Middlesbrough of the back of Gylfi, we’re calling it the Gylfi flight!’

In all seriousness though it will give the players plenty of time to prepare properly for the game, without the thoughts of long stretches on the motorway. The flight is only an hour and the player can train as usual on Friday.

McDermott continued, ‘We can prepare for the game properly now which is our main focus. The most important thing is to play well.’

The bad news for the players is that they must get the coach back from the Riverside on Saturday evening!
