After arriving in Slovenia on Monday, we played our first game on tour on Wednesday afternoon and ran out 3-1 winners. Jobi McAnuff, Jimmy Kebe and Julian Kelly missed the game with slight injuries so some of the younger members of the squad got a chance.

After we went behind to an earlier goal, good work from Hal Robson Kanu won a free kick. James Henry delivered and Alex Pearce headed home.

Michael Antonio went off injured in the first half, and Andy Griffin was booked, before a number of changes at half time.

It was one of those subs who put us into the lead when Simon Church scored after being put through on goal.

Gylfi Sigurdsson missed a penalty, after Brian Howard was fouled, but Church made sure of the win when he capatilised on a mistake by the Red Star Belgrade B keeper.

Whilst classified as a B team, Red Star did have a few first team players in their side and this was a good test for the Royals.

Team –

Andersson, Taylor, Griffin (Mills), Pearce (Gunnarsson), Williams (Howard), Karacan, Henry, Antonio (Tabb), Robson Kanu (Sigurdsson), Hunt (Long), Rasiak (Church).
