Reading are closing in on their first signing of the summer.

The Reading fans have been getting restless due to a combination of lack of incoming transfers and the departure of fan favourites Glen Little and Dave Kitson.

Fear not, Reading fans, as there is a glimmer of hope and reports suggest that Steve Coppell is finally going to bring in new blood.

The player in question is Dundee United`s Noel Hunt, brother of Reading`s Stephen Hunt.

The Royals have reportedly already had two bids rejected for the Irish striker who mustered just 8 goals in 80 appearances in his time at Dunfermline, but Coppell seems to have his heart set on him and the Royals have a tabled a third bid of £650,000.

The arrival of Hunt would almost certainly mean his brother Stephen will be staying at the club, which won`t necessarily be music to all Royals fans ears.

The deal is expected to go through within the next 48 hours, as opinions remain split as to the benefit of signing another Hunt.
