Rhodes only joined Huddersfield in the summer from Ipswich but his record of 13 goals so far this season, 9 in the league, has seen him attract the attentions of clubs at a higher level.
Brendan Rodgers, according to the Daily Mirror, has been given some funds to get a new striker in after Noel Hunt was ruled out for the season and will bid £600,000 for Rhodes.
That would mean Huddersfield would double their money on the 19 year old striker who has also had loan spells at Oxford, Brentford and Rochdale.
With the transfer window closed until January, any deal before that would have to be a loan move with a view to a permanent deal when the window reopens.
