Reading captain Jobi McAnuff says the Royals squad are not panicking about their start to the Premier League campaign, picking up just one point from four games.

The Premier League new boys are already having questions asked of them and whether they are capable of surviving in the top flight, but McAnuff has said that fans have to remain patient. Brian McDermott’s side are renowned of being slow starters and picking up the pace around Christmas time, witnessed in the successful Championship campaign last year.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, McAnuff said: “It`s only four games in, perhaps because we`re in the Premier League now things get magnified a lot more, but there won`t be any heads dropping in that dressing room. Nobody is moping around. We had a tough start last year and managed to crack on after that.’

‘Nobody will give us anything and we don`t expect anyone to. It`s got to come from within. We`re not getting panicky by any stretch of the imagination. We`re back on Monday picking each other up and getting ready for the next game. There won`t be any finger pointing, so we can go out there and try and get a good result on Wednesday.’
