Reading manager Brian McDermott has won the Championship’s manager of the month award for the second consecutive month.

The 50-year has led his team to six victories in eight games, drawing one and losing only one, which was their first in eleven games. The 4-2 over West Ham last week was unarguably the best result for the Royals this season, which has seen them rise into second place past the Hammers.

Defender Ian Harte was also in contention for the player of the month award following his fine string of performances in a rock-solid Reading defence. However, the Republic of Ireland international lost out to Forest winger Gareth McClearey, whose four goal salvo against Leeds rightly went noticed.

On-loan Sheffield Wednesday winger Michail Antonio is also up for Player of the Month award in League One. The former Tooting and Mitcham player has made a big impact at Hillsborough, already scoring three goals with numerous assists in their promotion charge.
