Rodgers lined up for Pompey job!

Rodgers was sacked by the Royals in December following an awful start to the season that had left us in the relegation zone, and has since been out of work. However despite missing out on the MK Don’s job, he could soon be back in a managerial hot seat.

He has been linked in the past week to a position on Roberto Mancini’s backroom staff at Man City, but he is now the favourite to take over at FA Cup finalist’s Portsmouth.

The debt ridden club saw manager Avram Grant resign last week, following the clubs relegation from the Premiership, but the administrator in charge of the South Coast club has confirmed Rodgers is in the frame to take over.

If he is appointed at Fratton Park then he would face a return to the Madejski Stadium next season as the two clubs come face to face in the Championship.
