Reserves: Reading Held by Villa

The Reading reserves had to again be content with another 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the Recreation Ground. The real bonus though again was Ibrahima Sonko playing the entire 90 minutes.

Reserve captain Alex Pearce put Reading ahead, the defender continuing his fine goalscoring form, and this remained the case until Nathan Delfounesco equalised late on for Aston Villa to deny us the win.

Ibrahima Sonko’s recovery from his long term injury was continued however as he again got through the entire 90 minutes, but it was not such good news for John Oster, who having only just returned from an injury lay-off had to come off midway through the first half.

The reserves are having a really good season, with only the one defeat so far I believe. Sonko playing the entire 90 minutes again is really good news for us though isn’t it. Hopefully Oster’s withdrawal was merely precautionary?
