Reserves: Reading beat Chelsea

After recently beating the Arsenal second string Reading have only gone and beaten the Chelsea reserves, winning 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

Thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu’s strike on 63 minutes we were able to claim the scalp of the young Chelsea side, which really was young, and a can’t honestly say I have heard of any of their players, but it’s another morale booster for certain.

It was a very strong Reading side, with no fewer than nine players that are, or have played first team football this season, with John Oster playing the full match, however Kalifa Cisse limped away in the last minute.

A win over Chelsea is a win at any level, but seeing players getting some football was the main thing.

don’t bang your drums too loudly – you had six internationals we had a load of kids cos all our reserves are out on loan gaining first team experience!

Aren’t quite a few of the Reading reserves also out on loan? A win against Arsenal and Chelsea at any level are not to be scoffed at!

  • Madejski Royal says:

Yeah that is right dazza71, if nothing else it should boost morale around the club as they are two good scalps, no matter who was playing for them.
