The Royals were dealt some good injury news for a change when two long term injury victims made their comebacks on Tuesday, in a reserve friendly against Brighton.

Ivar Ingimarsson played 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw, and opened the scoring with a header from a corner. He went off at half time to be replaced by young defender Danny Joyce.

Chris Armstrong played for an hour, longer than expected, in what was his first game for over a year following a knee injury.

Lee Hendrie also played and looked very impressive, lasting the whole 90 minutes and showed terrific attitude and skill in the ‘Sigurdsson Role’, just off loan striker Noel Hunt.

Neither Armstrong or Ingimarsson are expected to be in contention for the first team just yet, but a massive boost to have them back playing football.
