Reading Shorey that Nicky will stay

In a bid to try and stop Nicky Shorey leaving the tabloids are saying that Reading will make him the highest paid player in the clubs history.

West Ham have been after him for some time now, and they saw an unacceptable bid rejected before the transfer windowed closed, but they are expected to return in January.

Shorey still has two years on his current contract, but Reading fear he could walk away for free if he doesn’t agree something soon, so rather than seeing that they would have to sell him, something that they do not want at all.

It has proved that staying with Reading will not harm his England chances. But how much money means to Shorey, who like all Reading players may not be on copious amounts as so many other Premiership footballer he is still on a decent amount, only time will tell.

Keeping him is important to Reading, but once you break the bank for one, it doesn’t take long for others to want this as well. If money means more to Shorey than anything else then he will have to go no matter how important he is. He can achieve most things he is likely to in his career with Reading, but how much he wants this will ultimately be down to him.

I wonder if Sidwell will begin to regret leaving yous if he continues to not get his game,I think yous should pay good money to hold on to your best players, everyone else does it.I hope yez get back on track this season I thought yez were great last season, being Irish I think supporters of our national team owe Coppell a debt of grattitude.

Coppell is so underrated it is unreal, the bloke is a genius and a legend that is not fully appreciated in this country, but he will be. Sidwell went off in search of the holy grail, good luck to him but he will be hard pushed to play reguarly with Chelsea. Yes Reading should pay good money for top players, but once you break the bank for one others soon come knocking, so it’s a dangerous game to play. Thankyou for your support, Reading will be up and running soon.
