Reading reject Wolves offer for Mills

Sky Sports News has reported that Reading have turned down a bid from Wolves for club captain Matt Mills.

It has been a developing story over the past few days with interest in the towering centre back from a number of Premier League teams with Wolves winning the chase, then to some reports claiming he was set to agree a new contract at the Madejski Stadium.

This new contract Mills, 24, has been reportedly offered by the Reading board is worth a huge £30,000 a week, accoring to the Express and Star.

The bid for the former Manchester City man is believed to be in the region of £3m but the Reading board seem reluctant to sell their captain, believed to be wanting around the £4m mark.

Wolves are also after Birmingham’s Roger Johnson as a possible defensive partner for Mills, with Wolves also being prepared to offer former Royals target Michael Kightly, Andy Keogh or Richard Stearman to the Berkshire club as a part of the deal.
