Reading are ready to put in a bid for Derby’s Cyrus Christie as Jaap Stam plots another Championship promotion push, reports Get West London.

Having recently signed Liverpool’s Andre Wisdom, Christie’s position as Derby’s right back is under threat, in fact he’s seen as ‘surplus to requirements’, which will see Reading battle QPR for his signature.

Christie, 24, has shown his Championship ability at the iPro Stadium since the Republic of Ireland international joined Derby from Coventry in 2014 so he isn’t going to be short of offers, assuming he is indeed available?

According to Get Reading though, Latvian international forward Deniss Rakels will leave the Madejski Stadium in order to join Lech Poznan.

Rakels found first team football difficult to come across under Stam, a broken ankle in the third game of last season didn’t do him too many favours. The 24 year old will join Lech Poznan on a season-long loan deal with the view to a long-term deal at the Polish club.
