Reading have recently confirmed Craig Tanner – following Tarique Fosu’s Colchester extension – will stay with Plymouth until the end of the season.

Tanner – who was also on loan at Plymouth last season – has been heavily involved for the Pilgrims again as he’s made 24 appearances for the Devon based clubs this term and has scored five goals.

Jaap Stam did use the 21 year old during pre-season but when Plymouth came calling again the Reading boss agreed to another loan spell at Home Park.

Tanner was part of the Plymouth squad – he made 50 appearances – that made it to the League 2 play-off final last season. However, they were beaten in the final by Wimbledon. With the help of the Royals forward the Pilgrims are currently 2nd and looking good for promotion into League 1.

As for 21 year old Fosu he’ll also spend the remainder of the season out on loan with his spell at Colchester extended until the summer.

The winger has helped Colchester climb away from relegation trouble to a play-off position in League 2 after a fine run of form shown by the U’s.

Having spent the first half of the season with Cambridge it was also revealed Sean Long would undertake another loan spell. The defender joined non-league side Lincoln City on a temporary basis on the same day Fosu extended his Colchester spell.
