Reading are lining up a bid for Blackburn forward Junior Hoilett, according to talkSPORT.

The 21-year old Canadian is out of contract in the summer but the sports-based site have stated that the Royals would have to fork out £5 million in compensation as he is under the age of 24. Hoilett can play anywhere across the midfield but this campaign has mainly played behind Yakubu as a second striker, scoring seven goals in 34 league games.

To call this player an unrealistic target for Brian McDermott is an understatement, considering that he is being pursued by European giants Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham. Hoilett has been a stand-out player in a relatively poor Blackburn team that finished in 19th place this season and will be playing in the Championship next term.

    What utter rubbish!

No offence to Reading but Junior has much bigger fish after him at present.

I completely agree it will not happen, just thought it was worth mentioning. Very good player with great technical ability, will be playing in Europe one way or another next season.
