Reading responded well after two disappointing away days with a credible performance against the league leaders.

The Royals dominated the majority of the game and Matej Vydra scored his first goal in blue and white to cancel out an earlier effort from Jamie Murphy.

Steve Clarke made two changes from the Fulham debacle with Taylor replacing Obita and Mccleary coming in for Piazon.

It was a tightly contested affair with two teams fighting for the same cause and it was a first half with chances at a premium.

Oliver Norwood had the best chance of the first 45 with a fierce free-kick that was well saved by David Stockdale.

However, just after the break, Brigton made the break through with a swift move down the right wing, ending up with tidy finish at the back stick.

Never the less, Reading responded extremely well and created numerous chances in the process.

Hector, Blackman and Vydra all missed golden chances as it looked to be Brightons day.

Despite this, the home side were camped in the Seagulls half and it was only a matter of time before they brought it level.

On the 78 minute mark, Blackman’s effort was spilled in to the path of the on rushing Vydra who tapped home for his first Reading goal.

It was a well deserved equaliser for The Royals, but Brighton held on to extend their unbeaten run in the league.

It was a top response from the Reading players and showed that Fulham was just a blip.
