Reading have had a bid rejected for Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter.

Jonny Fordham of the Reading Post has stated that the bid is within the region of £2 million, which Forest have not deemed enough. The 22-year old is a Welsh international and also spent time with some of the Reading squad in Las Vegas last month, including new signing from Forest, Garath McCleary.

Royals boss Brian McDermott will be keen to add a right-back to his squad, with Shaun Cummings the only recognised player that can play in that position following the departure of veteran Andy Griffin. FC Twente’s Roberto Rosales has been linked with a move, along with highly rated Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne.
