Reading enquire about Watford defender

Reading have made an enquiry to Watford concerning the availability of their defender Adrian Mariappa.

The Watford Observer have reported that the enquiry was made to the Hornets a few days ago, with Brian McDermott keen to add the defender to his squad. Last month witnessed increased speculation that Mariappa was on Reading’s wanted list, now the enquiry showing firm interest from the Premier League newboys.

The 25-year old has openly admitted he is keen to stay at Vicarage Road but only has one year remaining on his current contract. Mariappa’s fine performances in a Watford shirt has also earned him interest from Newcastle and Wigan, but the Royals appear to be showing the highest interest.
