Reading ran out comfortable winners to make it 3 wins in 4 in their impressive league form.

Williams replaced Tshibola, but Clarke had a big call to make in who to replace Orlando Sa. The gaffer had options of Piazon, John, Kanu, Hurtado and Mccleary and he opted to bring in Garath Mccleary with Blackman pushing on up front.

This change paid off as after just nine minutes, Reading took the lead through the in form Nick Blackman as he latched on to a Danny Williams pass, cut inside and curled in a nice finish past the helpless Frankie Fielding.

Reading continued their quick start and again caught City on the break and this time it was Mccleary who scored. The winger unleashed a shot from around about 25 yards out, giving the keeper no chances as the ball rattled the inside of the post and in. A phenomenal Reading start.

Bristol City just couldn’t get into the game and continued to struggle to string any passes together, making the game very comfortable for The Royals.

The away side continually broke away with pace through Quinn, Vydra, Blackman and Mccleary. Reading actually should’ve killed the game off before half time as Mccleary again beat his man down the right, resulting in a great chance to set up Vydra for a tap in, but Mccleary made the wrong decision to cut it back to Blackman and he under hit the pass.

Bristol city finally created a chance on the stroke of half time as the ball was threaded through to the dangerous Kodija, only for Michael Hector to block fantastically to keep the score at 2-0 at the break.

Despite Reading being in complete control throughout the first half, I just had a feeling City would come out strong in the second period and give Reading some problems, but I was wrong.

Reading could’ve made it more on numerous occasions, with Blackman breaking away but greedily wasting the chances.

Clarke had a chance to embed some of his new boys and the likes of Hurtado and Piazon produced a tidy cameo at the end of the comfortable away win.

Steve Clarke’s side dominated procedures from start to finish and never looked like conceding due to the quality of the two centre halves, Hector and Mcshane.

Bristol City will certainly struggle this season, they looked a long way away from being good enough for this league and Reading were just far too good for them.

Another fantastic away win for the Royals, but they won’t have many easier games than this one.
