The traditional pre season curtain raiser at Didcot Town’s Loop Meadow brought with it the usual easy win, despite conceding a goal (Rodgers out!!).

We played two different sides in each half and goals from youngster Glyfi Siggurdsson and Nicholas Bignell had us 2-0 up at half time.

In the second half we saw a more established Royals 11 and goals from James Henry, James Harper and a Simon Church penalty extended the scoreline, with Didcot scoring past second half keeper Adam Federici.

There were a number of decent performances from the likes of Hal Robson- Kanu and Scott Davies in the first half, and James Henry and Alex Pearce in the second.

The first half team was captained by Brynjar Gunnarsson with Alex Pearce taking the armband in the second half (just as Vital Reading said he should). However Brendan Rodgers has still to decide on a new permanent club captain.

First half Team (4-4-2) – Hamer, Davies, Bikey, Gunnarsson, Hunt, Tabb, Robson-Kanu, Siggurdsson, Bozanic, Long, Bignell.

Second half team (4-3-3) – Federici, Rosenior, Pearce, Cisse, Armstrong, Karacan, Harper, Matejovsky, Henry, Church, Kebe
