Reading once again put on another late show in the Premier League, as they beat Sunderland thanks to a Jimmy Kebe header five minutes from time.

The Royals started the game superbly and deservedly took an early lead at the Madejski Stadium. Jimmy Kebe picked up a loose ball in the box, before setting himself to fire a fine effort into the top corner. Brian McDermott’s side were in complete control, until Pavel Pogrebnyak needlessly fouled John O’Shea in the box.

Referee Lee Mason pointed to the spot and Craig Gardner duly stepped up to slam home the equaliser. Both sides were pushing for the win in the second period, but couldn’t find a way through two inspired keepers in Federici and Mignolet. However, five minutes from the end, Kebe scored a header at the back post to earn all three points for the Royals.
