Vital Reading Season Preview – QPR
Club: Queens Park Rangers
Founded: 1882
Nickname: The Hoops
Ground: Loftus Road (Capacity: 18,360)
When we face off: Sun 11th November (A), Sat 27th April (H)
Last season finish: 17th – Premier League
Manager: Mark Hughes – The Welshman has had a decent start as QPR boss but will very much want to be judged on this season, now he has had time to organise and build a squad for Premier League progression.
Key player: Junior Hoilett – The signing of the Canadian was a massive coup for the Hoops and much of their success could well depend on him. A very powerful, technical winger, who can play anywhere across the midfield.
Season Preview: I’m still very much undecided whether QPR’s spending spree will get them anywhere this season. There is no doubt their squad is much stronger than it was last campaign, but it will take time to gel together. I would not be surprised to see them within the relegation boundaries.
A few free transfers, £2m on Park, £4m on Diakite and a potential £4m on Holiett doesn’t quite add up to a ‘spending spree’, does it?
I thought Park and Hoillet were a lot more than that, my bad!
Bad report Joshy. Can’t be getting things wrong now.
