Vital Reading Season Preview – Chelsea

Club: Chelsea

Founded: 1905

Nickname: The Blues

Ground: Stamford Bridge (Capacity: 41,837)

When we face off: Wed 22nd August (A), Tues 29th January (H)

Last season finish: 6th – Premier League

Manager: Roberto Di Matteo – The Italian manager has finally earned his big break at Chelsea, after bringing the FA Cup and the Champions League to West London for the first time in the Blues’ history.

Key player: Eden Hazard – The Belgian midfielder is being seen as the missing link for Chelsea. A superb, technically-gifted playmaker who can possibly make the difference between Chelsea getting in the Champions League places.

Season Preview: In terms of Premier League finishing, last season would have been very disappointing for the Chelsea faithful. However, brining back silverware to Stamford Bridge would have been very pleasing indeed from their point of view.

Chelsea have certainly added to their midfield area with the signing of Eden Hazard and Oscar, which should be enough to feed the goal-shy Fernando Torres. The Blues defence could do with some bulking up, but I still feel they have enough to get into the Champions League places.

Not too sure about that mate, defence needs a bit more strength added to it then maybe. Still think its going to be between City and United.
