Popa to Depart Permanently?

|

According to reports in Bulgaria today, Adrian Popa is impressing in his loan spell with Ludogorets and the Bulgarian side are interested in making the temporary deal permanent.

The Romanian winger has failed to make an impact at Reading since joining from Steaua Bucharest in 2017 and has already been out on loan twice, joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Taawoun before Ludogorets.

With reports emerging today that Reading players have not been paid in full for last month due to an ‘adminstrative error’ with the Chinese owners, I’m sure the board will be looking to clear out the deadwood at the club this summer, especially with the tight constrictions of Financial Fair Play as the club will look to try and sign the loan players that came in in January for next season.

It’s a shame to see that the likeliness is Popa will depart Reading on a permanent basis this summer as I always rated Popa, I just don’t think he was given enough chances. However, this would seem like a sensible deal for all parties and the 30 year old will probably want to end his nightmare stint with the Royals.
