The Royals are gearing up for the new season and following the first game of the season against Scunthorpe they travel South to face Portsmouth. However Pompeys dispute with former chairman Alexandre Gaydamak over land surrounding the stadium has put the game in doubt.

Gaydamak still owns the lands surrounding Fratton Park and is attempting to charge the clubs for use of it, which includes the match day car parks.

Portsmouth’s administrator Andrew Andronikou said, ‘If we don’t have access to the car parks for the first home game, it could be abandoned. The stadium is effectively an island. The access points are within their alleged ownership of the land. It is a nightmare. When it rains, it pours.’

The club will now attempt to resolve the problem ahead of the game, and surely with 2 weeks to go their should be no problems? Lets hope so!
