Russian international Pavel Pogrebnyak is on the verge of a move to Premier League side Reading.

The 28-year old forward is currently out of contract at former side Fulham, after failing to agree terms with the Cottagers. This has prompted interest from the Royals, with owner Anton Zingarevich flying over to the Russian Euro 2012 base in Poland to meet with Pogrebnyak and agree terms last week.

The deal is reportedly a four-year contract, earning £30,000 a week. Sky Sports and several sources have claimed that Pogrebnyak completed his medical at the Madejski Stadium yesterday and confirmation of the deal is to be expected at some point in the next few days.

The former Stuttgart player had a very good spell with Fulham in the final four months of the previous Premier League season, scoring six goals in 12 appearances. He is described as a strong and powerful forward, who can hold up the play, but can become very erratic in front of goal.

I believe its only around £30k a week now but I’m surprised he didn’t stay at Fulham, but does seem a decent player.
